IDA Classroom Plans are built for universities, non-profit research institutes, engineering schools, and other educational providers seeking to equip students and research teams with top-tier reverse engineering software. 
 Two types of plans are available: 1) Free-of-charge IDA Classroom  plan, and 2) IDA Pro with Classroom discount  plan. 
These plans can only be requested by teaching staff or research leads on behalf of their institution.

The free-of-charge IDA Classroom licenses offer a robust version of the core IDA Pro features and are tailored to hardware platforms commonly used by students, i.e. Intel and ARM.

PUBLIC ENROLLMENT:
Classroom plans are available to academic and education organizations that publicly enroll students or conduct education-related research, including:
Universities and technology/engineering institutes
Non-profit research institutes conducting education-related research or collaborating with academic programs
Publicly enrolling education providers (e.g., training centers, certification platforms)
Not eligible: private corporate training departments and military schools. Individual students/researchers should apply through their institution.
RELEVANT FIELDS of STUDY: Classroom plans are only available to teaching staff for usage with their students during courses and/or research work that address disassembly, decompilation, debugging and/or de-obfuscation techniques, such as, but not limited to, cybersecurity, malware analysis, reverse engineering, program analysis, CPU design, compilers.
COUNTRY LIMITATIONS: Classroom plans may be unavailable in some countries depending on guidance or rules and regulations provided by — amongst others — the UN Security Council, the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Council of the European Union, or if Hex-Rays is not in a position to examine application documents provided in the language of the applying organization.

Hex-Rays reserves the right to deny Classroom plans if the information provided is deemed questionable or the courses provided do not justify using Hex-Rays products.

Classroom plans are not directly available to individual students and/or researchers.
Students and/or researchers that wish to benefit from Classroom plans individually should contact their teaching staff for them to submit an application on behalf of the teaching institution.
If your university department does not wish to apply for Classroom plans for your field of study, we encourage you to use IDA Free instead; or alternatively connect with other teaching and/or research groups within your university that may potentially be eligible for Classroom plans.
